Q: Where do I find help for the platforms our school uses?
A: Go to the Teachers page. Click a platform to open its step by step guides. Sign in with your school account to view them.
Q: How do I learn how to use a specific platform?
A: Check the guides on the Teachers page. You will also find short videos at the bottom of that page. If you do not see a guide for your platform, email me at ssalim@isava.org and I will make one for you.
Q: I am new to the school. Where should I start?
A: Start with the Teachers page. Look through the guides for the tools you will use most. Then read the Newsletter for tech updates and tips. You can also drop by my office during lunch for a quick walkthrough, or book a meeting at Book time to meet with me
Q: How do students access the school's digital platforms?
A: Students can find their login links and guides on the Students page. They also have their own Student Resources group in Schoology. If a student still cannot get in, email me at ssalim@isava.org with the student's full name and the platform name.
Q: A student cannot log in to a platform. What should I do?
A: Ask the student to try the login link on the Students page first. If it still does not work, email me at ssalim@isava.org with the student's full name and the platform name. I manage all school software accounts and I will fix it quickly.
Q: How can parents check their child's grades?
A: Parents can find help logging in to the parent portal on the Parents page. In the portal, they can see grades, assignments, and attendance. If a parent has trouble logging in, ask them to email me at ssalim@isava.org and I will help them.
Q: A digital platform is not working or seems down. What should I do?
A: Email me at ssalim@isava.org. I manage all school software and platforms. I will check if the problem is school wide or just your account, and I will follow up with you.
Q: Schoology is not loading or something looks wrong. What should I do?
A: Try these steps in order:
Step 1: Refresh your browser
Step 2: Clear your browser cache and try again
Step 3: Try a different browser like Chrome or Edge
Step 4: Restart your device
If it still does not work, email me at ssalim@isava.org with a screenshot of the error and I will look into it.
Q: Can I use Schoology and our platforms from home or on my own device?
A: Yes. All our platforms are online, so you can use them on any device with internet. That means at home, on your phone, or anywhere outside school. You can find login guides for each platform on the Teachers page.
Q: I cannot find a resource that used to be here. What happened?
A: Sometimes I move things around to keep them organized. Check the Teachers page first. If you still cannot find it, email me at ssalim@isava.org and I will find it for you.
Q: How do I add materials or assignments to my Schoology course?
A: Inside your course, click Add Materials. From there you can add files, links, assignments, or assessments. For more help, check the Schoology guides on the Teachers page.
Q: How do I send a message or announcement to my students on Schoology?
A: Inside your course, click Updates to post an announcement to all students. To message one student, go to their profile and click Message. There is also a guide on how to email parents in Schoology on the Teachers page.
Hi everyone! This school year, my office is open every day during lunch for drop in tech help. If you have a question, need help with a platform, or want to try a new tool, just stop by during your lunch. No appointment needed.
How it works: When you come in, I will ask what you want to work on. Before you leave, I will ask what helped and what you still need. Sessions are relaxed and based on what you need.
Q: When can I get face to face tech help?
A: My office is open every day during lunch. No appointment needed. Just bring your lunch and your question and we will work through it together.
Q: What should I bring to Lunch & Learn?
A: Bring your laptop and any tech question you have. We can work on any platform, like Schoology, Toddle, IXL, NWEA MAP, BrainPOP, Canva, Turnitin, Savvas, LanguageNut, Twinkl, Brisk AI, Exam.net, Microsoft Teams, or any other tool you use. You can also look at the guides on the Teachers page before you come.

Q: I want to co-teach a lesson that uses technology. How do I set this up?
A: I am happy to co-teach with you when you introduce a new tool or platform to your students. We will plan the lesson together and I will be in your classroom to help you and your students. Book a meeting at [your booking.me link] or drop by during Lunch & Learn to talk about it.
Q: How should I get my students ready before using a new tech tool in class?
A: These steps help things go smoothly:
Step 1: Share the login link with students ahead of time in Schoology
Step 2: Send students to the Students page for login help and guides
Step 3: Email me at ssalim@isava.org if you need a simple visual guide for your students
Step 4: Book a co-teaching session so I can be there the first time students use the tool
Step 5: Plan extra time for the first session. New tools usually take longer than you expect
Q: My laptop is not working. What should I do?
A: For hardware problems like laptops, projectors, printers, or internet, please contact IT Support at it@isava.org. I take care of software and digital platforms. IT Support takes care of all devices and equipment.
Q: My classroom projector or screen will not connect. What should I do?
A: Please contact IT Support at it@isava.org. They will come to your classroom to help.
Q: My question is not in this FAQ. What should I do?
A: Email me at ssalim@isava.org and I will help you. I will also add your question here so it can help other teachers too.
Q: How fast will you reply to my email?
A: I reply to all emails within 24 hours on school days. For urgent issues during the day, drop by my office. I am there every day during lunch.
Q: How do I book a meeting for more help?
A: Use my booking link at Book time to meet with me and pick any open time that works for you. You can also drop by during Lunch & Learn. No booking needed.
Q: Where can I find tech news and tips?
A: Check the Newsletter page for updates, new tools, and tips.
